Nicole Sawin, BA (Hons), MSW

Nicole Sawin is a mental health therapist working at Intersect Youth & Family Services in Prince George, BC with training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Family Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. They completed their undergraduate degree at McGill University in Honors Sociology, where they also worked as a research assistant in the School of Social Work focusing on children and armed conflict around the world. Their Master of Social Work thesis explored the perspectives of Aboriginal caregivers of children diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Nicole works primarily with children and youth ages 8 to 19 and facilitates a support group for parents of gender diverse youth. Being born and raised in Fort Nelson, BC, Nicole is excited to be a part of the virtual SEED Summit.
